Andrea Voigt (pictured at right) won the 10 and under 200 Meter Freestyle at the 2003 Western Zone Championships with a time of 2:26.20. The race was an exciting come from behind race as Andrea, seeded in lane 8, won by a mere one hundredth of a second. This qualified 9th in the top 16 times swum in America.
Andrea began swimming with South Bay Aquatic's coach Ned Maggiori back in 1999. She credits him for her excellent endurance and finishing ability.
Andrea also won the La Jolla Roughwater classic for 4 years in a row. Her winning streak came to an end in 2005 when she came in second.
Andrea is another South Bay Aquatics Student Athlete. Along with her outstanding swimming performances, she maintains a 4.0 GPA at Eastlake Middle School. She looks forward to the scholastic and athletic challenges ahead when she attends Eastlake High School next year. Her ultimate goal is to swim at USC!
