Two CIF neophytes, freshmen Jacquie Kimmel and Taylor Stoddard, both of Eastlake, were the first and second place overall point scorers for the Metro Conference girls swimmers this CIF.  Taylor's second place point tally included a 4th place finish in the 200 yard free and a 5th in the 100 yard free.  Taylor's point total was just surpassed by teammate Jacquie Kimmel whose incredible personal performances included third place finishes in both the 100 yard free and 100 yard back. Both girls were critical members of the 3rd place 200 yard free relay and the 4th place 200 yard medley relay.  Both girls would be quick to credit their time spent in the pool during the off season, swimming with SBA, for their stellar performances!

Robert Newman (Bonita) hauled in two 11th place finishes in the 100 yard fly and breast.  He believes his time in the water playing water polo and swimming with SBA have helped his high school swimming.

Eastlake's Mark Uy blazed his way to a 2nd place finish in the 100 yard breast stroke.  His off season hours with SBA helped him peak this high school season.

Chris Sanchez, a senior from Bonita, was the boys high point scorer for the Metro Conference swimmers at the 2006 CIF championships.  His personal performances included a second place finish in the 50 yard freestyle and a fourth place in the 100 yard freestyle.  He credits his many years with SBA as providing the base and discipline required to make high school All-American times

Senior Dani Kimmel (Eastlake) streamlined her way to a third place finish in the 50 yard free and anchored the third place 200 yard free relay as well as the fourth place 200 yard medley relay.

Middle distance swimmers, Daphnee Dion and Heather Voigt, both sophomores from Eastlake, scored points in the 200 and 500 yard freestyles.  Daphnee placed 9th in the 200 and 11th in the 500.  Heather placed 7th in the 200 and 8th in the 500.  Both girls credit their superb endurance to the hours spent swimming club with SBA.

Jeffrey Demoss (Eastlake) finished 10th in the 100 yard backstroke.  Jeff believes the exceptional stroke instruction he received from SBA coaches over the last several years prepared him for success this year in CIFs.

DJ Payton (Hilltop) finished with a bronze in the 100 yard breast stroke and a 10th place in the 200 yard individual medley.  His exceptional technique in all the swimming strokes was developed over years of swimming under various SBA coaches.

Don Sales had excellent performances with a 3rd in the 100 yard fly and a 9th in the 200 yard individual medley.  His technique in all the strokes were developed under the watchful of SBA coaches during club swimming leading up to this years high school season.

Elyse Witt has been honing her swimming at SBA for years leading up to this high school season.  She credits the breadth of the swimming program at South Bay Aquatics and the friends she has made at each level  for keeping her motivated.  Her performance included an 8th in the 100 yard backstroke and a 9th in the 100 yard freestyle.
